The Meeting List and Calendar system
used by this site have been designed
to allow you to include them directly
into your Web site. This can make it
appear exactly as if they are an integral
part of your site. There is no need for
frames.
You have a great deal of control over the appearance of the list
and the calendar, as we rely on CSS to
handle most of the "look and feel" of
the site. You will provide your own CSS,
and will apply that to the meeting list
and/or calendar.
The reason you would want to do this is that you won't have to
maintain a separate list from the Region.
It will ensure that the Region has the
most accurate list possible for your
own area, and that you can take advantage
of the advanced search features on this
Web site.
The example given here requires that you have PHP
enabled on your Web server. You can also
use other "active
content" systems, but PHP makes it very
simple indeed. Basically, you need to
have a somewhat more powerful server
than a simple HTML server, but not by
much. It really doesn't take very much
technical know-how to embed this meeting
list.
We provide a complete example PHP file and a couple of CSS "themes"
for your use. You can download it all
and use it on your site. Feel free to
do whatever you want with it. You can't
harm the main site, and you can make
the calendar and meeting list look radically
different from the theme used here.
The code generated by this meeting list in embedded format is
very high quality. It validates XHTML
1.1 and WAI AAA (Priority 3). This has
the side effect of not opening external
links (like the map links) in separate
windows (as does this site.) |
